This is a wheel thrown and hand sculpted jug that was created from stoneware red clay. It was then hand painted with lead free underglazes and stained with red iron oxide to give it a distressed look, as well as to bring out the many textures encompassing the body of the jug. Finally, sculpted crawfish claws were attached to the jug with wire to give it the whimsical design you see before you.
